Dave Kowalski has spent more than 20 years installing, servicing and troubleshooting commercial door systems across the Greater Toronto Area. He started as an apprentice on job sites in Mississauga and Toronto in the early 2000s and has since worked on everything from hollow metal fire doors and aluminum storefronts to high-speed roll-up doors, automatic operators and loading dock equipment for warehouses, retail plazas, schools and healthcare facilities.

Over two decades he has completed thousands of installations and emergency repairs, and he knows the Ontario Building Code fire door requirements and CSA hardware standards the way most people know their own driveway. His work regularly involves fire-rated assemblies, barrier-free (accessible) entrances and the kind of code compliance that building owners and property managers cannot afford to get wrong.

Dave founded Commercial Door Pros to bring straight answers and reliable workmanship to GTA businesses. When he is not on a site in Vaughan, Oakville or Barrie, he writes these guides to help facility managers and business owners understand their doors before they call anyone.
